Ngorongoro Crater Lodge

The Ngorongoro Crater is one of nature's spectacular sights. A huge volcanic caldera, the sheer size of the crater is special enough - the 25,000 large animals who live in it simply makes it out-of-this-world. Grazers make up a huge number of these animals, and with this brings an abundance of predators, giving Ngorongoro the highest density of lion numbers in the world.

Staying at the Crater Lodge puts guests in luxurious lodgings, with chandalier-lit ensuite bathrooms, safari-colonial chic and a dining room with a large open fire.

Clearly, safari is the main theme of the visit, and guests are taken on tours in convertable landrovers accompanied by trained guides and spotters. The day will start with fresh coffee and breakfast, lunchtime will be a picnic out in the crater, before moving on to afternoon tea and then sundowner cocktails. The height of British indulgence enjoyed in the most glorious African setting.

Also available to guests is a chance to meet the famous guardians of the savannah - the Maasai, and guests can see first hand the dances of the warrior class of this herding society.
