Selous Safari Camp

Relatively unknown compared to the illustrious Serengeti, the Selous Game Reserve is four times its size, and home to over a million large animals including a quarter of the world's Wild Dog population, over 100,000 buffalo and over 60,000 elephant.

The camp itself is located in open palm forest on the shores of Lake Nzerakera, with tented accommodation spaced out along the shoreline.

The tents bring guests absolute luxury in the bush - spacious, containing king size beds, en suite bathrooms and hot showers. The Camp is split into two sections, North and South, each boasting its own swimming pool and kitchen/ bar/ dining area where fine cuisine and comforts are available.

Safari expeditions follow the same timetable as that of most of the animals, and take place just after breakfast and in the hours before sunset. During the heat of the day animals and tourists alike are resting out of sight!

The most common activity is of course the 4x4 safari, where guests travel with a fully trained guide. Also on offer are boat safaris on the lake, especially good for seeing crocodile and hippos. For thrillseekers, walking safaris are offered (with fully armed guide and watchman), which gives guests the chance to get up close and personal with the animals.
