The Golden Triangle refers to the joining of the borders of Laos, Northern Thailand and Burma. A stay here is a base for exploring the bountiful jungles, or a start for a trip down the famous Mekong River, which winds its way along the Thai/Lao border and then past the beautiful cities of Luang Prabang, Vientiane and Phnom Penh before its delta in Vietnam.
The accommodation here is unique, and the option is to stay in 15 luxury tented rooms in the jungle, overlooking mountains, river and jungle, with each tent boasting a large outdoor deck for guests to contemplate the view. Spa treatment is also on offer.
While based at the Tented Camp, full board is available including top quality food and drink from the main restaurant, or dining by campfire at Elephant Camp. Picnics are also on offer while on excursions.
The standout feature, however, are the opportunities for elephant trekking and for Mahout training - Mahouts are the 'jockeys' of the beautiful Asian Elephant.
