Pangkor Laut is a resort on a private island just off the West Coast of peninsular Malaysia. The island is 300 acres in size, with nothing but the resort to take up the space, meaning a lot of it is left in pristine condition.
The space and geography of the island gives a magnificent diversity of accommodation options. Guests have a choice of staying in villas on stilts over the ocean (some with access to the spa village); on the beach; on the hillside amidst the rainforest; and in the resort's gardens. All villas come with a high level of luxury and comfort.
Then, there come the dining options. Four restaurants offering fine a range of cuisines from South-East Asian and Malay, grilled seafood, Italian and fusion, along with a number of cocktail bars. Private Dining is also available.
Activities on offer from the resort feature all the usual range of tropical island water activities, like diving, and a number of different cruise options. Pangkor also makes the most of its location, with jungle trekking and excursions to glimpse local culture and crafts on offer, as well as organised trips to a nearby 18 hole golf course. For those choosing to stay closer to the resort, a cooking experience with the chef, and Tai Chi, are also on offer.
