The Oberoi, Lombok

The island of Lombok in Indonesia, just to the East of Bali, is the location of another fine resort from Oberoi, offering guests tropical gardens, turquoise ocean and a private beach.

The accommodation on offer is all, of course, fitted with all the necessary comforts, a standout feature being a sunken marble garden bath. Pool villas and pavilions all contain a private swimming pool as well, while all rooms are decorated in tasteful and traditional Indonesian fashion.

Dining at the Oberoi is all about atmosphere, with two of its restaurants and a bar offering cocktails,and both international and Asian cuisine amidst calming ocean views of the distant Gili islands. Meanwhile a meal at the beach Amphitheatre gives diners an insight into local dance and music as performers accompany their meal.

Available on site is a top class spa with steam room, jacuzzi and other expected luxuries. There is also a gym, and the Oberoi pool provides a stunning swim with views out to sea, or of the palms encircling the pool.

Just off the beach is a picturesque jetty, and it is from here that guests can embark upon a whole range of watersports and diving activities, including visits to the Gili islands. Those wanting to stay dry have access to a tennis court on site. A golf course is just ten minutes away.
