An aerial view of Cocoa Island will tell you everything you need to know about the place you'll be staying in. A heart shaped island, set in a body of cobalt water, punctuated only by the resort's stilted buildings extending from the beach like a fossilized skeleton.
Lodging at the resort takes place over the lagoon, accessed by an intricate network of wooden walkways. It comes in a variety of sizes and styles, but all villas ensure comfort and stylish locally-inspired design, along with easy access to the lagoon for swimming.
The restaurant at Cocoa Island keeps the locally-inspired theme of the architecture. While more international options are available, the restaurant specialises in dishes and flavours derived from nearby Sri Lanka and South India. There is also a bar offering a variety of good wine, and cocktails.
To burn off the energy, plenty of water-based activities are available, such as diving, windsurfing and sailing. However, with relaxation and peace the main emphasis of the island, its spa is a particular highlight, offering a huge range of treatments at its COMO Shambhala Retreat, where guests can also practice yoga.
