Kuredu Island

Just 35 minutes by seaplane from the capital Male, Kuredu Island nonetheless meets all the necessary requirements for a remote paradise island - as you might expect, you'll be walking from the shade underneath palms, across a white strip of sand, and into clear blue water for a warm and relaxing swim.

Accommodation is offered all around the island in the form of luxury beach villas; alternatively the water villas are found on walkways out over the lagoon. All balance traditional and modern - they blend with the environment from the outside, but do not lack for technology and comfort on the inside.

To fuel your stay, a total of sixteen bars and restaurants are on offer, giving guests a huge variety of things to choose from to eat and drink, including three a la carte menus.

The usual range of diving, watersports, tennis, volleyball and other activities are available, but perhaps the most impressive feature at Kuredu is the golf course. Thanks largely to the country's geography, golf has not made an impact on the Maldives - but six par 3 holes at Kuredu Island represents the first golf course in the region. As well as making Kuredu unique among similar resorts, this may have started the ball rolling towards the Maldives as a golfing destination in the future.
