Six Senses, Laamu

As well as the resort at Soneva Fushi, Six Senses run a sister resort at Laamu, offering a more typical (less adventurous but no less luxurious) level of accomodation.

The standout at Laamu is the range and structure of the dining facilities. Two restaurants offer fresh Mediterranean and Asian dining experiences, while a third goes one step further, offering cooking classes to guests.

Other facilities seem to cover every aspect of a gourmet meal - a glass tower rising out of the sea houses over 400 wines and a deli to bring the finest of French culture to the Maldives. Sweet food is also designated its own restaurant, focussing mainly on ice creams and sorbets but also offering snacks like crepes. Perhaps after an ice cream, head to Chai, the tea and coffee lounge; and of course there is a cocktail bar with live music after dark.

Leisure and spa facilities and activities offer the usual range of diving, watersports and tennis.
