The Atlantis resort symbolises everything a tourist could want from Dubai. Located at the head of the famous Palm Jumeirah, the first of the three man-made palm-shaped archipelagos extending out into the Arabian Gulf, the Atlantis building dominates the skyline and, like Dubai, is big, brash, and unashamedly modern.
The accomodation on offer ranges from Deluxe to Imperial, so luxury can be expected. Views out to the Arabian Gulf and all around of the city's various construction projects are guaranteed.
Food wise, there is literally something for everyone at the Atlantis, with from the underwater Ossiano restaurant to three others, run by celebrity chef Giorgio Locatelli, Japanese supremo Nobu Matsuhisa, and Michelin starred Frenchman Michel Rostang. Thirteen other restaurants are also available for those wanting to take a night off from being such a high class gourmand.
Nine bars and lounges are also on site, offering everything including fine wines, cigars, cocktails and shisha.
With a name like Atlantis and restaurants like Ossiano, water is a recurring theme, and most entertainment here involves water. There is a
waterpark, opportunities to swim with dolphins, diving trips and a spectacular underground experience walking through tunnels surrounded by 65,000 fish.
Other things to do include a visit to the two beaches or two swimming pools; shopping in the in-house shopping mall; playing tennis at Atlantis' very own academy, and three levels of club - a nightclub for adults, a club for teens and one for kids.
There really is no reason to leave the hotel for the duration of your stay.
