Shangri-La at Bar Al Jissah, Oman

Located a short trip from the capital Muscat, the Barr al Jissah resort offers three hotels on dramatic and isolated coastline, where rugged mountains and dried up wadis meet the waters of the Gulf of Oman.

The resort comprises three separate hotels, offering high levels of luxury to family, business and exclusive travellers respectively. All guests have use of the resort's facilities, while guests of Al Husn Hotel have access to their own private infinity pool and beach.

The resort offers a total of eight restaurant venues, serving a variety of international foods including Omani seafood. There is also an outdoor shisha lounge and a number of bars serving cocktails and cold beer.

The Chi Spa offers world class relaxation, and like other Shangri-La resorts, draws from the Shangri-La legend for its inspiration.

Activities at the resort are myriad, with fantastic diving and snorkelling on offer, on which a variety of sealife including turtles can be seen. Sailboats are also available, and a marina provides a safe berth for yachts. On land activities include tennis anda gym.

Also available are day trips to the beautiful Wahhiba Sands, a desert region of stunning dunes, where tourists can take tea and halwa with local Bedouins in their tents.
