Update – 9th July 2021
Leisure travel abroad has been legal from the UK since 17th May 2021.
From 19th July travel to Amber list destinations is now allowed without quarantine on return
as long as you are at least 14 days post 2nd vaccine, and for children under 18 years with parents.

How the Traffic Lights Work.
Amber: Most of Europe
Amber: new rules for fully vaccinated passengers and their children
Green: (including: Iceland, Gibraltar, )
Green: arrivals will need to take a pre-departure test as well as a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test on or before day 2 of their arrival back into England - but will not need to quarantine on return (unless they receive a positive result) or take any additional tests, halving the cost of tests on their return from holiday
**UPDATES to Green List: the first update on 3rd June removed Portugal from the Green List.
Next Major update and review will be on 15/16th July.
The travel industry will be lobbying the government to follow the data and allow travel to safe destinations and allow vaccinated travellers to travel more freely also.
Red: Currently Turkey, UAE, Qatar amongst many others.
Red: arrivals will be subject to restrictions currently in place for ‘red list’ countries which include a 10-day stay in a managed quarantine hotel, pre-departure testing and PCR testing on day 2 and 8

There will be reviews on 28th June, 31st July and 1 October 2021.
It is worth remembering Portugal was on the red list until 15th March so it is likely quite a few red
list destinations will turn Green in the next few months.
